PLACE OF BIRTH# MAP 2 AND THE LIE VIMEO VIDEO

With James on Mondays we do cyber smart with him about how to stay safe online. Today we made a map about where Room 7, 8, 9 were born. Here are some questions we had to answer

How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach WPS?=

Joshua travelled About 9,880 KM .Mr Ross about 1,000 KM. Mannov travelled about 2,200

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?=

War, better life, change, children, work, family.

Is this a trend in NZ society? What does the media tell us?=

No it isn't in NZ. House prices are going up fast. Prices like 1 M, 600,000

James also showed us this video about why people could be judged.

WARNING: This video is very powerful in feelings so it could make you cry.

The Lie from Untitled Productions on Vimeo.

This is a video about what  other people are judged on. These are things like their skin colour, being raciest, the way they talk and being terrorists. Please feel free to leave a comment on what you thought about this video.

My famous idol/team slide

My famous idol/team

In Room 7 we were set a challenge to think about someone we look up to. Then we had to make a slide about them with facts, personal details and a cool title page. I picked Malakai Fekitoa as my famous idol/team.  Here's my slide about Malakai Fekitoa.

What do you do when cyber-bullied?

On Monday Room 7 was learning about what to do when bullied online. James asked us if we knew what trolling meant. We made a scenario of being bullied online. We made a problem up or we could share an experience we'v had before.  We'v learnt what to do online if someone does it to us. Here's my scenario.                                                                                                                                                                        Who should you tell?                  -Talk to an adult you trust, relatives or parents                                                                           Should you play with that person ever  again?    -You personally shouldn't play with them online anymore.

MY MYTHICAL CREATURE POST

Room 7 made Mythical Creatures out of clay. Before we got make our clay version we used play-dough to practice what our mythical creature would look like. So after we used play-dough finally got to use clay. It was so cool it was all gooey and was fun to shape. During the school holidays they were burnt in the kelm. Then we painted our clay work and made backdrops. We also made google slides that told the story of our work. Then we created a QR code for the slide to sit alone side our work. Then our art work went up in the Waikowhai Art Show. Here go's my art work and my slide, hope you like it. Please feel free to leave a comment.

My book trailer post.

Every week Room 7 goes to the library to select a chapter or picture book that we enjoy reading. We discussed how we can get others in the school to read the amazing selection of books we have. So we decided to make Book trailers to show off the books we love.  On i movie we made the trailers with images that we found on online that represent what our books are about. Then we wrote the outline of the story and showed our teacher. When Mr Ross said it was good we uploaded it to our chrome-books. Then on Friday we showed 5 of them in our assembly. Here's the book trailer I made.
